Brief History

Based on its operational permit, the Master’s Program in Mechanical Engineering is the third Master’s program implemented at the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI) in accordance with the decree of the Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) No. 3137/D/T/2004 dated August 12, 2004, specifically in the field of Mechanical Engineering. The Master’s Program in Mechanical Engineering began its operations in the first semester of the 2005/2006 academic year. Its operational permit was later extended by DIKTI Decree No. 3275/D/T/K-III/2009, valid until August 28, 2012, and extended again based on DIKTI Decree No. 11983/D/T/K-III/2012 dated May 16, 2012, valid until August 28, 2015.

The Master’s Program in Mechanical Engineering has been accredited with a B rating based on the decision of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) No. 4761/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/M/XII/2017, valid until December 12, 2022. This confirms that the Master’s Program in Mechanical Engineering at FTI Trisakti University has been accredited.

It is worth noting that in the 2014/2015 academic year, the Master’s Program in Mechanical Engineering successfully recruited 10 new students. As of now, the total student population in the program is approximately 60, consisting of 31 active students who have filled out their course registration forms (KRS), comprising 28 regular students and 3 transfer students, and 29 inactive students. In the 2014/2015 academic year, the program successfully graduated 4 students with the Master of Engineering (MT) degree, with an average GPA of 3.84.

As of the 2014/2015 academic year, the total number of lecturers in the Master’s Program in Mechanical Engineering was 13, consisting of 9 permanent lecturers and 4 adjunct lecturers. This results in a ratio of permanent to adjunct lecturers of 1 : 0.45, and a ratio of permanent lecturers to students of 1 : 5.22, which is considered well-balanced.

In addition to lecturers, the Human Resources (HR) within FTI-Trisakti also include Support Staff (TPG). There are 2 support staff members assigned to assist all three Master’s programs within FTI-Trisakti, including the Master’s Program in Mechanical Engineering.

Research activities, community service (PKM), and scientific meetings/seminars/discussions/workshops for the Master’s Program in Mechanical Engineering are coordinated with the Undergraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering (S1). Thus, research reports conducted by the lecturers of the Master’s Program are recorded and reported under the Undergraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering.

The mechanisms, implementation, and quality control of research are carried out by the Faculty of Industrial Technology. The proposal process is still coordinated with the Undergraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering (S1).
